Gọt vỏ gừng, cắt sợi. Bóc vỏ tỏi, hành tím, băm nhuyễn. Bóc bỏ lớp vỏ bên ngoài của sả, đập dập, cắt lát xéo mỏng. Rửa sạch ớt, bỏ hạt, cắt nhỏ. Rửa sạch hành lá, cắt nhỏ.
Rửa sạch thịt bò thăn, cắt mỏng. Sau đó, trộn thịt bò với tỏi băm, gừng, hạt nêm, muối, 1 muỗng cà phê đường trắng trong 1 cái tô.
Làm bò xào sả ớt: Đun nóng dầu ăn trong chảo, cho sả vào, đảo đều cho dậy mùi. Tiếp theo, cho thịt bò đã ướp ở trên vào xào cùng, mở lửa nhỏ. Khi thịt bò chín hẳn, cho ớt vào là được. Nêm gia vị nước mắm, 1 muỗng cà phê đường trắng vào, nấu thêm 2 phút.
